System Monitor and High Availability Log

All messages from the System Monitor and High Availability features are logged here. System Monitor is a service that
monitors the rest of the services on the Application Server and reports on their status and the actions it takes to correct
any abnormalities. The High Availability messages are those messages related to a failover setup such as heartbeats
skipped or the occurrence of a failover.

SIP Messages Log

SIP messages from the SIP service are logged here, such as messages related to calls, termination, etc.

BluStar Alerts

Alerts from BluStar terminals are logged here, such as admin login failure, IP address unknown, login expired, etc.

General Logfiles

General Logfiles are web accessible versions of standard Linux operating system logs, and are therefore not necessarily
subject to “log level” restrictions and color coding of messages. The different types of general log files are:

Platform Security

The file /var/log/security on the server

Linux Platform Messages

The file /var/log/messages on the server

External BluStar Devices

The file /var/log/external on the server

Each log is viewed by selecting the log from the drop-down menu and pressing Search.

Web Server Access Log

Commands from web users accessing the Web UI are logged here. This lists the IP of the machine, the time, as well as the
files being accessed.

Web Server Error Log

Web server errors, as well as detailed messages from the web server, are logged here.

Cron Log

The Linux cron log is displayed here. This lists information regarding processes that are scheduled to run automatically
via the server’s cron file.

Boot Log

System boot events are logged here. These include messages regarding the boot process, shut down process, as well as
the starting and stopping of individual processes.
