Configuration Password Protection
Introduction
The configuration password controls read/write access from the STB NIP 2212 web
site to the physical module’s Flash memory. This password must be set up on the
Change Configuration Password web page.

Procedure
Use the following procedure to set up a configuration password for your
STB NIP 2212 web site:
Logging In and
Out
If you set up a configuration password, the following login procedure takes effect:

Click on the Security tab.
The Security menu is
displayed.

Click on the Change Configuration Password
option.
The Change Configuration
Password page is displayed.

In the New Password field, type your configuration
password.
The password must have six alphanumeric
characters. The characters are case-sensitive.

Type the password again in the Confirm New
Password field.

Click on the Save button.
The configuration password
takes effect immediately.

Type the configuration password for your
web site next to the Logout button (See
Sample Login Prompt, p. 90).
Note: The password is case-sensitive.
The Login button toggles to Logout.
Your entire STB NIP 2212 web
session is now write enabled.

Perform the write operation, e.g., configure
a role name from the Role Name web page
(See Configuring a Role Name, p. 82).

Click on the Logout button to end write
privileges on your web site.
The Logout button toggles to Login.
Write protection for your web site is
restored.
