7. Select a bus memory address that is not currently in use.
The valid bus memory values for use with the 4-Port Multi-Protocol ISA Adapter
start at 0x0e0000 and increment by 0x002000. For example 0x0e2000,
0x0e4000, 0x0e6000, etc. The previous example shows
ampx
is using the first
bus memory range of 0X0e000 and
apm
is using the second range of
0x0e2000.
8. Install the 4-Port Multi-Protocol ISA Adapter device driver and diagnostic by
choosing:
smit isa
Install ISA Adapter Software
to install the fileset
device.isa.mm2.
9. After installing the software, you might enter:
smit isa
Add an ISA Adapter
10. Select portmaster isa Multiport Model 2 Adapter from the SMIT pop-up
menu.
11. Select bus1 Available ISA Bus from the following SMIT pop-up menu.
12. From the menu described in Figure 38 select the correct Interrupt Level, Bus
I/O Address and Bus Memory values, and press Enter.
Add a Multiport Model 2 Adapter
Type or select values in entry fields.
Press Enter AFTER making all desired changes.

This configuration menu also provides the capability to select the Define
device only, do not configure option to have the adapter defined but not
configured. Change this field value to yes. It will allow you to define the
adapter without configuring it. If any parameter conflicts were detected, an
error message similar to the following is displayed:
