Another built-in management tool offered by the magicolor
2210 is job accounting. With a hard disk (optional feature)
installed, the printer can perform printer-based job account-
ing, tracking usage patterns for each print job. The job
accounting feature is activated through the magicolor 2210’s
front panel. When installed, the time-of-day clock (optional
feature) “stamps” accounting data with the current date and
time.

Job accounting is a very useful resource for many applica-
tions. It offers over 30 categories by which data can be fil-
tered, including name of sender, connection type, job
processing time, toner coverage, and finishing options used.
This is invaluable information for system administrators,
allowing them to better perform resource management and
auditing, set up print-for-pay applications, and charge
printer usage cross-departmentally. Likewise, this function
can assist service personnel in determining printing
problems.

Retrieving job accounting data for further analysis is
accessed via CrownView. Under CrownView’s “accounting”
tab, users first choose the style of their output as HTML or
Comma Separated Values (CSV). They then select from the
categories of data available which information they’d like
to review. Their request is submitted and uploaded to the
host computer or displayed within the browser.

Analyze printer usage using
the job accounting function
viewable through CrownView.
