New to the MINOLTA-QMS line is Internet Printing
Protocol (IPP)
support. This feature allows the user to
print remotely to any IPP enabled printer through the
Internet and Intranets. Users submit a print request by
using a command in the browser address line beginning
with “ipp://,” then the printer’s address, rather than
“http://.” Users can also inquire about the printer’s capa-
bilities and print job status.

mainframe/midrange connectivity*
Although the magicolor 2210 includes a printer-
resident CrownNet for Ethernet (10/100BaseTX) interface,
another can be added to support dual Ethernet networks.
This interface installs in the printer’s optional input/
output slot on the interface panel and supports the same
network protocols as the standard Ethernet interface.
For Token-Ring network support, businesses can add the
CrownNet for Token-Ring
interface using the open I/O
slot. The interface offers both shielded twisted pair (STP -
Type 1) and unshielded twisted pair (UTP - Type 3) net-
work plug-ins and concurrently supports NetWare
