Both drivers support English, French, Italian, German, Dutch,
Spanish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Danish, Czech, and
Japanese.
For users on a TCP/IP network, the PostScript drivers for
Windows 95/98/Me and for Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP
offer additional communication tools, including:
•E-mail job completion notification:
Especially
convenient for users who rely on a printer that’s not in
close proximity, e-mail job completion notification com-
municates when a print job is finished and waiting in the
output bin. This feature is activated through the printer
driver by simply supplying the appropriate Internet
email address.
•Consumables monitoring:
As previously discussed in
the Consumables and Supplies Monitoring section, the
PostScript 3 driver displays consumable levels through
gas gauge style readers, letting users know how much
of each supply remains before sending their print job.
•Quick Config:
With the Quick Config function this
same driver can automatically detect any options that
have been recently added to the magicolor 2210 and
“install” them into the driver. For example, if a 5-bin
mailbox is added to the printer, Quick Config tells the
driver it’s available.
For businesses using a PostScript driver supplied by the
manufacturer of their host operating system, MINOLTA-
QMS offers PPD files. Once installed, these files “supple-
ment” the user’s driver, making magicolor 2210 printer
features accessible.
