The diagram and outline below describes the magicolor
2210’s printing process:
•
OPC Drum Cartridge (#3):
When a file is sent to the
printer, the OPC drum is first evenly charged with
high voltage by the charge wire on the OPC drum
cartridge.
•
Laser Unit (#4):
The OPC drum surface is then
exposed to the laser beam which creates an electro-
static latent image as dictated by the file.
•
Developing Area (#5):
Within the developing area,
toner is transferred to the electrostatic latent image
on the OPC drum.
•
Image Transfer Belt (#6):
The toner image from the
OPC drum is next transferred to the image transfer
belt. This process will happen four times for a 4-color
image, leaving a full 4-color image on the transfer
belt. It will then be transferred from the belt to the
paper as it passes through.
