11.5.3 Setting the Monitoring Period
You can define a monitoring period for every measuring channel. This allows you to filter out
temporary effects such as shade on the group of PV strings.
You can set a monitoring period for all the measuring channels in the parameter field "Monitoring On"
and "Monitoring Off".
1. Select the String Monitor Unit you want in the plant tree.
2. Select the "Parameters" tab.
3. In the parameter fields "Monitoring 1 On" to "Monitoring 8 On" or "Monitoring On" set the start
of the monitoring period for each measuring channel or all the measuring channels.
4. In the parameter fields "Monitoring 1 Off" to "Monitoring 8 Off" or "Monitoring Off", set the end
of the monitoring period for each measuring channel or all the measuring channels.
5. Select [Save].
11.5.4 Setting the Tripping Time
Using the tripping time, you can set the sensitivity of the string current monitoring, since it is included
in the calculation of the error sum. The tripping time is set to 180 minutes as default.
1. Select the required Sunny Central Control in the plant tree.
2. Select the "Parameters" tab.
3. In the parameter field "SMU_T_Ausl." enter the tripping time in minutes.
4. Select [Save].
11.5.5 Setting the Tolerance
You can use the tolerance to set the sensitivity of the string current monitoring, since it is included in
the calculation of the error sum.
Since only a clear deviation of a measuring channel from a mean value is an indication of a faulty
string, whereas minor deviations can be considered normal, the tolerance value should be set
accordingly high.
1. Select the required Sunny Central Control in the plant tree.
2. Select the "Parameters" tab.
3. Enter the tolerance value in percent for the groups in the parameter fields
"SMU_tolerance grp1" to "SMU_tolerance grp3".
4. Select [Save].
