Technical Details

The following table lists the number of router frames and sizes for expanded routers:

Other NVISION series routers are not expanded and do not support expansion.

Expansion Configuration Settings

Listed here are the maximum values you can use in the ‘Expansion Configuration’ section of the
‘Configuration’ window.

The general idea for expansion settings is that each frame of an expanded router (1) receives
inputs from all frames, i.e., receives all inputs and (2) produces its individual range of outputs.

NV5256 (Expanded)

The expanded NV5256 has a 512 x 512 matrix, as if it were two 512×256 routers. The values for
the ‘Expansion Configuration’ section that give maximal range are:

Number of Frames That Can be Connected

NV5256-Plus

2 frames at 256 ports each, resulting in 512×512 router

NV7256-Plus

2, 3, or 4 frames, 256 × 256 each, resulting in a 512×512, 768×768, or 1024×1024
router (1024×1024, 1536×1536, or 2048×2048 mono)

NV7512-Plus

2, 3, or 4 frames, 512 × 512 each, resulting in a 1024×1024, 1536×1536, or 2048×2048
router (2048×2048, 3072×3072, or 4096×4096 mono)

NV8256-Plus

2, 3, or 4 frames, 256 × 256 each, resulting in a 512×512, 768×768, or 1024×1024
