Image Support Server (ISS) instructions
The Image Support Server is host for the background metadata extraction services
used within Aurora Browse. From the Image Support Server, Aurora Browse
processes MPEG-1 proxy content and extracts thumbnail images to be used for proxy
identification, extracts dynamic scene detection images for storyboard creation, and
renders RealVideo for low bitrate proxy content.
Platform Specifications:
• Pentium 3 1Ghz or better (1 or 2 CPU)
• 256 MB RAM
• CD-ROM Drive
• Minimum 20GB Program Drive
• Windows 2000 Workstation (SP3)
• .NET Framework 1.1
• Internet Explorer 6 (SP1)
• Real Producer 8.5
• Mediaware hardware dongle
Cable as illustrated and as follows:
• Attach the Mediaware dongle to the parallel printer port on the back of the Image
Support Server to enable generation of thumb-nails and storyboard extraction.
• Connect an Ethernet cable from the
LAN1
port on the ISS to a network router or
switch.
