The “MIDI Trigger” dialogue box opens……

Ticking the Go box allows a MIDI note to play
the cuelist. To select the MIDI note, click the Learn button (it turns green) and Clarity now
listens for the next MIDI message to be sent and automatically assigns it to the “Go” (play)

function for the cuelist. The MIDI note is displayed in the box beside the Learn button.
There are three options for releasing the cuelist:

The default setting is for Clarity to Release on Note Off.

Ignore Note Off activates the “Release” pane. Ticking the Release box allows a MIDI

note to release the cuelist. Click the Learn button and Clarity now listens for the next
MIDI message to be sent and automatically assigns it to the “Release” function for the

cuelist. The MIDI note is displayed in the box beside the Learn button.

Toggle on Note On plays the cuelist when Clarity receives a Note On and releases the
cuelist when Clarity receives the same Note On message.

Ticking the Velocity= Fader Level box allows the Velocity value of a MIDI note to control the

Intensity fader level of the cuelist. To select the MIDI note, click the Learn button (it turns
green) and Clarity now listens for the next MIDI message to be sent and automatically assigns

it’s Velocity value to the Intensity fader for the cuelist.
There are options for:

Minimum fader level.

Maximum fader level.

Return to zero with adjustable level.

If you have return to zero checked, then a note off will reset the fader level to the zero level
(which, if you want, can be changed from the default of 0 to be any level you like).

You could, for example, have a MIDI note flash the intensity between 50% and 100%.

31.4 MIDI TIMECODE
MIDI Timecode information can be received by Clarity and used to control the playback of cues
at specific times. This allows Clarity’s playback to be perfectly synchronized with other

elements of a production that are also locked to MIDI Timecode. See Section 32 Timecode for
more details.
