Disabling DHCP Requests (MAC Mode)
Disabling DHCP Requests (MAC Mode)
After installing NS-Link and restarting the system, you may want to disable the
DHCP requests that are periodically sent from the device if you are running the
device in MAC mode (not using a static IP address). Use the following procedure to
disable DHCP requests sent from the Comtrol device.
Note: MAC must be checked in the Device window as discussed in
1.
Access the Properties page for the device using the appropriate procedure:
Windows XP and Windows 2000:
a.
Right-click My Computer, select Manage, and highlight Device Manager.

Expand the Multi-port serial adapters entry, right-click on the device you
are configuring, and select the Properties menu item.
Windows NT:
a.
Right-click on the Network Neighborhood, and select Properties.

Select the Adapters tab.
c.
Highlight Comtrol NS-Link and select the Properties button.

Select the Main Setup tab, highlight the device name for which you want to
disable DHCP requests, and select Properties.
