3.4 CLI error messages
If a user enters incorrect commands, the grammar check fails and the CLI reports error
messages to the user. If all of the commands are correct, the grammar check passes. Table 3-2
describes common error messages.

Unrecognized command
The command cannot be found.
The key word cannot be found.
Wrong parameter
A parameter type error occurred.
The parameter value exceeds the boundary.
Incomplete command
Incomplete command entered.
Too many parameters
Too many parameters entered.
Ambiguous command
Indefinite parameters entered.
3.5 Command history
The CLI automatically saves a command history for each user. This function is similar to the
DOS-Key. By default, the CLI saves a maximum of 10 commands for each user. Table 3-3
describes the command history operations. You can run the saved history command at any
time.

ED NOTE
On the Windows 9X HyperTerminal, the cursor key | is invalid because the Windows 9 HyperTerminal
defines keys differently. In this case, you can replace the cursor key | with
Ctrl+P
.
