10.3.4 Performing the master/slave switchover

NOTE
Secure Routers 8002, 8004, and 8008 contain only one RPU, so they do not support this function.
Do as follows on the router.
Step 1 Run:
s y s t e m - v i e w
The system view appears.
Step 2 Run:
s l a v e s w i t c h o v e r { e n a b l e | d i s a b l e }
This command configures the router to allow or deny forced master/slave switchover.
If the master/slave switchover must be performed through the CLI, configure the router to
allow the switchover in this step.
Step 3 Run:
s l a v e a u t o - u p d a t e c o n f i g
This command configures automatic synchronization to the slave RPU.
This step is optional. By default, the system automatically synchronizes data to the slave
RPU.
Step 4
Run:
quit
This command returns the CLI to the system view.
Step 5 Run:
s a v e
This command saves the configuration file.
Step 6 Run:
s y s t e m - v i e w
The system view appears.
Step 7 Run:
s l a v e s w i t c h o v e r
This command performs the master/slave switchover.
CQ NOTE
Ensure that the router operates normally.
