12 Patch management
12.3.3 Copying a patch to the root directory of the flash of the
slave RPU
Do as follows on the router you want to upgrade.
Run:
copy
source-filenam^e
s l a v e ^ f l a s h i /
destination-filename
This command copies the patch to the root directory of the flash memory of the slave RPU.
CD NOTE
If you need to copy multiple files to the flash memory of the slave RPU, repeat the preceding step.
This command applies to only the Secure Router 8012.
12.4 Installing a patch on the RPU
12.4.1 Establishing the configuration task
Applicable environment
If you need to update the RPU, you can install a patch on the RPU. When you install a patch,
you can upgrade the system without upgrading the system software.
When a patch is uploaded, the system checks that the patch version is the same as the system
version. If the two versions are not the same, the system prompts that the upload failed.
Before you install a patch on the RPU, you must check for running patches on the master and
slave RPU s. Otherwise, the patch becomes invalid after the master/slave switchover.
Preconfiguration tasks
Before you install a patch on the RPU, upload the patch to the root directory of the flash
memory of the master and slave RPUs.
