12.3 Uploading a patch
12.3.1 Establishing the configuration task
Applicable environment
Before you install a patch, upload the patch to the root directory of the flash memory of the
master RPU. Then, copy the patch to the root directory of the flash memory of the slave RPU.
You can use the following methods to upload a patch: FTP, TFTP, and Xmodem.
Preconfiguration tasks
Before you upload a patch, complete the following tasks:

Ensure that the router starts normally after it is powered on.
•
Ensure that you can log on to the router.
Data preparation
Before you run a patch, you need to obtain a patch that is consistent with the board.
