12 Patch management
12.2 Checking the system for running patches
12.2.1 Establishing the configuration task
Applicable environment
The system permits you to run only one patch at a time. You must confirm that no patch is
running in the current system before you install a new patch. If a patch is currently running,
you must delete it before you install the new patch.
Preconfiguration tasks
Before you check the system for running patches, complete the following tasks:
•
Ensure that the router starts normally after it is powered on.
•
Ensure that you can log on to the router.

Checking for a running patch on the RPU
12.2.2 Checking for a running patch on the RPU
Do as follows on the router you want to upgrade.
Step 1 Run:
display patch-information
This command checks the master RPU for running patches.
Step 2 Run:
display patch-information slave
This command checks the slave RPU for running patches.

Before you install a patch on the RPU, you must check for running patches on the master and
slave RPUs. For example:
