5.3 Configuring user management
5.3.1 Establishing the configuration task
Applicable environment
This section describes how to configure user priority and authentication.
Remote users can log on to the router to access networks through Telnet or establish a PPP
connection with the router, if the router is configured with the IP address of the MCU or that
of the interface board. To ensure network security and improve user management, configure a
user name and password for the router.
Preconfiguration tasks
Before you configure user management, complete the following tasks:
• Power on the router.
• Connect the PC with the router.
