6.4 MIDI CONTROL
• Recalling a Program (PROGRAM CHANGE)
Y ou may recall a Program of the FX770 using the MIDI device. You can use seven Banks (A-G) to assign the Program
>- Change numbers output from the MIDI device to the FX770 Program numbers. You may also set the MIDI channel
for each Bank.
1. Select and set a Bank in “5.1 MIDI Program Change Table” on page 23. You can select a Bank using the
footswitch.
2. Set the channel in “5.5 MIDI Channel” on page 26 so that the channel will match that of the MIDI transmission
device. Selecting “OMNI” will send the data on all channels.
3. Connect the MIDI transmission device to the MIDI IN port on the rear panel.
• Setting a TEMPO (MIDI CLOCK)
Like the FS2, you can use the MIDI clock transmitted from a sequencer or rhythm machine to set a TEMPO. You
can select the effects that can be used with the FS2.
When the FX770 receives MIDI clock while the LCD shows the parameter of the available effect block, the indicator
will flash on the display.
1. Select the available effect type for the MOD block or DLY block. Change the TRG parameter to MIDI.
2. Connect the MIDI transmission device to the MIDI IN port.
It takes a period of time equivalent to one eighth note for the FX770 to set the TEMPO parameter after the MIDI clock
interval changes.
• Pitch change control (NOTE ON MESSAGE)
The FX770 receives a Note-on message from the MIDI device to control the PITCH PCL and PCR parameters.
1. Set the channel in “5.5 MIDI Channel” on page 26 so that the channel will match that of the MIDI transmission
device. Selecting “OMNI” will send the data on all channels.
2. Set the KEY parameter in 7.1.6 on page 42.
3. Connect the MIDI transmission device to the MIDI IN port on the rear panel.
The difference in pitch between the Note-on message and the KEY parameter is used for the PCL and PCR
parameters. These parameters have the following relationship:
When a Note-on message of a chord is sent, the PCL parameter uses the highest note, and the PCR parameter uses
the second highest note.
This function works regardless of the Controller 1&2 settings “«KEY NOTE.” If you do not need this function, set
the KEY parameter to OFF.
