2.3 PROGRAM CONFIGURATION

The FX770 contains two groups of Effect Programs: Preset and User. In Play mode, press the [PLAY] button to change
groups. A program in the respective group will be recalled when a group is selected.

• PRESEf

The PRESET area contains 100 preset effect programs. These preset programs cannot be erased or changed in any
way, but they can be edited and stored in the USER area to create your own library of programs. See Section 7.2
for the complete list of Preset Programs and Section 4 to learn about Editing and Storing.

• USER

The USER area provides 100 locations into which your own effect programs can be stored. You can edit a PRESET
PROGRAM and store the resulting original program here, or you can edit an existing USER program and store the
variation here also.

To Select and Recall a Effect Program:

1. Press the [PLAY] button to enter the PLAY MODE.

2. Press the [PLAY] button again to switch the Preset Program area The Program number LED indicates the

currently Selected Area.

3. Now use the [DATA WHEEL] to increase (clockwise turn) the program number or to decrease (counterclock­

wise turn) to the program of your choice. Preset Effect Programs are numbered from 0 to 99 in both Preset and
user area.

2.4 HOW TO CHANGE THE SOUND OF A PRESET PROGRAM

(SIMPLE EDITING)

Once you’ve set up and are playing with your FX770, you ’ 11 probably check out the Preset Effect programs that come loaded
in the memory. Then, once you find an Effect preset that sounds interesting, you may want to change part of the sound that
you hear; this is called Editing. The Effects of the FX770 are quickly and easily edited in the EDIT Mode. Follow these
steps to change any effect sound:

1. Enter the EDIT Mode by pressing the [EDIT] function key once.

2. Select the Effect(s) that you’d like to change by pressing the corresponding [EFFECT SELECT] Button(s).

3. To change the Effect Type, press the [EFF TYP] function key after you have selected an Effect in step #2 above.

Continued pressing of the [EFF TYP] key will cycle through the available effect types.

4. Press the respective [EFFECT SELECT] button again, and the parameter display page will change.

5. Use the [◄] and [►] cursor keys to move the cursor to the effect parameter(s) that you wish to change, then use

the [DATA WHEEL] to increase or decrease the parameter value(s).

6. To change the Noise Gate setting, press the [EDIT] key twice (2x) and the Noise Gate Level will appear. Use

the [DATA WHEEL] to change the setting to the desired level.
