Section 2: Quick Start Tutorial
2.1 APPLICATIONS OVERVIEW
The FX770 can be used in many different types of set-ups. From personal rehearsal to live performance, and from home
recording to professional multi-track studios, the actual configuration of your system will depend on your own specific
needs. Here are a few suggested set-ups that each have their own benefits, please experiment with these and see which ones
get the right tones for you.
• Live performance with Combo Amplifiers
Tech Tip:
When using the FX770 with a combo-type amp, try the following suggestions to get the purest results. Since all
combo-type amps contain both preamp and power-amp sections, the goal is to not color or otherwise adversely affect
the tone of your FX770.
1. If the combo has an “Effect Loop ”, try connecting the Stereo Outputs of your FX770 to the Effect Loop Returns
of the combos. This should bypass the preamp section of the combo amp and provide direct access the power-
amp section.
2. If the combo does not have an effects loop, set the preamp volume as clean as possible and place any tone controls
as “flat” as you can.
