7.3.2 Blob Detect Tool
In imaging, a group of adjacent, like-shaded pixels, is called a Blob, short for Binary Large OBject . The Blob
tool separates selected pixels into two categories: black and white. After the pixels are separated into black
and white, they are grouped and adjacent black or white pixels are seen as a dark or bright Blob.
Usage
• Count pills
• Measure hole size
• Verify the number of characters in date/lot code
• Detect LCD segments
• Detect missing products during packaging
