4.4 Initial operation
4.4.1 Attaching the heating bath
Place the instrument base in a suitable location.

1. Place the feet of the heating bath in the tracks (1). Ensure that the controls
are facing forward.
2. If necessary, adjust the height of the feet.
– Loosen the feet by hand or with an open-ended wrench and adjust
them until the heating bath stands firmly without wobbling.
4.4.2 Filling the heating bath
The heating bath can be filled with a variety of liquid heating media.
When using to de-ionized or distilled water:

O) to the water.
The minimum/maximum volumes of the heating bath refer to the liquid level
with the evaporating flask immersed.
1. Select a liquid suitable for your application such as tap water, oil with a low
viscosity (40cP) and flash point (check safety data sheet) > 260 °C, water-
soluble polyethylene glycol.
2. Lower the evaporating flask.
3. Fill the heating bath with medium. The level must be between the
minimum and maximum marks.
