Configuration
Use the Port Configuration menus to configure any port or module on
the switch.

Status
Enable
Allows you to disable a port due to
abnormal behavior (e.g., excessive
collisions), and then re-enable it after
the problem has been resolved. You
may also disable a port for security
reasons.
Duplex
Mode
Auto-
Negotiation
Used to set the current port speed,
duplex mode, and auto-negotiation.
The default for RJ-45 ports is auto-
negotiation. (Auto-negotiation is not
available for 100Base-FX ports.)
Flow
Control
Disable
Used to enable or disable flow control.
Flow control can eliminate frame loss by
"blocking" traffic from end stations or
segments connected directly to the
switch when its buffers fill. Back
pressure is used for half duplex and IEEE
802.3x for full duplex. Note that flow
control should not be used if a port is
connected to hub.
