This chapter describes the files used by Smart Manager for Mainframe.

File naming conventions used by Smart Manager for Mainframe

The following table describes the file naming conventions for files used by Smart Manager for
Mainframe.

prefix

is the character string to be specified in Configuration file prefix on the Edit Defaults

panel, or the character string to be specified in the

PREFIX

parameter of CLI commands. Make

sure that you specify the same character string for all three types of files used by Smart Manager
for Mainframe.

CAUTION:

If you want to install and use Smart Manager for Mainframe in the same system as Business
Continuity Manager, you must make sure that the prefix character strings for Business Continuity
Manager and Smart Manager for Mainframe are different. If the same prefix is used for both
Business Continuity Manager and Smart Manager for Mainframe, the product may operate
abnormally.

policy-ID

is the identifier of a tiering policy information CSV file. This is the value to be specified

in the

POLICY

parameter of the

KTIMPORT

command.

nnnnn

is the serial number of the storage system.

tiering-policy-group-ID

is the identifier of a tiering policy group. This is specified in a

tiering policy CSV file as the name of a tiering policy group.

CAUTION:

Use the disk configuration definition file and tiering policy group definition file as a reference only.
They might not function properly if you change the file contents.
