Using

Using compound blocks in schematics is equivalent to using basic blocks. Placing is done from the Insert
menu or by Drag&Drop operations as described in paragraph 5.1.1. All available compound blocks are treated
as a group of blocks.

all compound blocks in the right part of the
Double-clicking the instance of a compound block will create a new window where the block can be edited.
This is an easy and fast way to change the contents of a compound block from its instance.

Export and

Compound Blocks

Compound blocks often describe structures that are not only useful for one project, but can be used also in
other projects. Compound blocks used within one project are stored in the project file with extension.
To move them to other projects they can be exported from one project and imported into another. Doing this
the contents of the compound block will be stored in a file with extension.

To export a compound block the item Export Compound from the File menu has to selected. First a dialog
appears that lists all compound blocks.

Selecting the item to export and pressing OK or double-clicking the item selects the block to be exported.

Now the standard windows dialog for entering the filename for export is opened. The default name is the
name of the compound block with extension

After changing the name and directory (if desired) and

pressing OK the compound block is saved into the selected file. From this file it can be imported into another
project.
