Task 015: Testing Voice Connectivity
This procedure checks the voice connectivity in BitStorm 1900 voice/
data applications.
Requirements
The following is required to do this procedure:
• External voice facility point-of-presence equipment installed
• Tip/Ring assignments
• Standard telecommunications hand-test telephone set
Step Procedure
1.) Identify the voice line being tested. Turn on the BitStorm 1900.
2.) Connect the hand test set Tip and Ring testers to the Tip/Ring pair
at the customer premise cross-connect.
3.) Test for dial tone. A successful test indicates that voice service is
passing through the filter shelf.
4.) If no dial tone is present, refer to “Chapter 3. BitStorm 1900
Maintenance” on page 103, for troubleshooting information.
