These engines utilize a Heavy-Duty style air cleaner
as shown in Figure 4-1, consisting of a cylindrical
‘˜žœ’—ǰȱŠĴŠŒ‘Žȱ˜ȱ‘ŽȱŒŠ›‹ž›Ž˜›ȱŠ—ȱ’—Š”Žȱ
manifold. The air cleaner housing contains a paper
element and inner element, designed for longer
œŽ›Ÿ’ŒŽȱ’—Ž›ŸŠ•œǯȱ‘Žȱœ¢œŽ–ȱ’œȱȦȱŒŽ›’ꮍȱ
Š—ȱ‘ŽȱŒ˜–™˜—Ž—œȱœ‘˜ž•ȱ—˜ȱ‹ŽȱŠ•Ž›Žȱ˜›ȱ–˜’ꮍȱ
in any way.

Service
Weekly and every 150 hours: ‘ŽŒ”ȱꕝŽ›ȱ–’—Ž›ȱǻ’ȱ
Žšž’™™ŽǼǰȱž—‘˜˜”ȱ‘Žȱ ˜ȱ›ŽŠ’—’—ȱŒ•’™œȱ˜—ȱŽŠŒ‘ȱŽ—ȱ
and remove the end caps. Perform inspection of the
paper element and inlet screen area.
Seasonally or every 300 hours ˜ȱ˜™Ž›Š’˜—ȱǻ–˜›Žȱ
˜ĞŽ—ȱž—Ž›ȱŽ¡›Ž–Ž•¢ȱžœ¢ȱ˜›ȱ’›¢ȱŒ˜—’’˜—œǼǰȱ
›Ž™•ŠŒŽȱ‘Žȱ™Š™Ž›ȱŽ•Ž–Ž—ȱŠ—ȱŒ‘ŽŒ”ȱ‘Žȱ’——Ž›ȱ

and remove the end caps from the air cleaner
housing.
ȱ Řǯȱ ‘ŽŒ”ȱŠ—ȱŒ•ŽŠ—ȱ‘ŽȱœŒ›ŽŽ—ȱŠ›ŽŠȱ˜—ȱ‘Žȱ’—•Žȱœ’Žǯȱ
Pull the air cleaner element out of the housing on
opposite side. See Figures 4-2 and 4-3.
