6. Operation
General Information
• If you fix a problem with non-sync video, yet the button still remains red, a lower-priority audio
format error might still be occurring (and will have moved to the top of the error stack). Always
check the menu display to obtain information about current errors.
About the Button Rows
The iMC-Panel-100 has four button rows each comprising 16 buttons.
The preset and program rows have exactly the same button functions. These are rows of physical
buttons on the button panel.
The aux/user and preview/user rows appear on the display unit. The aux/user row has the same
source buttons as the preset and program rows. Buttons in the aux row that are not source buttons
are configurable buttons.
The preview/user row comprises additional configurable buttons.
About “Layer” Buttons
The “layer” section of the preset and program rows can include video effect buttons and voice-over
buttons. The layer section can vary from panel to panel. Video effects include up to 4 DVEs and up
to 4 DSKs.
S Some Imagestore 750s do not have DVES.
About Configurable Buttons
When your panel is controlling an Imagestore 750, there are 4 sets of buttons that provide cus-
tomer-configurable buttons:
• The 4×4 array of buttons on the upper part of the panel.
• The rightmost buttons of the aux/user button row.
• The entire preview/user button row.
• The entire front row of buttons (except the transition button).
The buttons in these sections perform functions that are chosen by the person who configured the
panel.
Panels and Channels
Several panels (and automation) can control the same channel at the same time. When someone
else makes a change to a channel that you are also controlling, the changes are reflected (insofar as
possible) on your control panel. Similarly, changes you make are reflected on all other panels that
control the same channel.
This is not an issue if your system has been configured so that channels cannot be controlled by
more than one panel.
A single panel can control multiple channels. When it does, the channels are said to be ganged.
Further, the panel can be configured so that its default channel can be the main channel of a channel
gang and when the default channel is selected (by any method) the follower channels in the gang
are also selected and gang selection is enabled.
(The actions you perform on the main channel are also performed for the follower channels.)
