Connecting a Video Source

Various types of video sources can be connected to the recorder including DVD players, VHS players,
and CCTV Cameras. The back of the recorder contains 4, 8, or 16 video inputs depending on the
recorder model. The connectors use the BNC standard.

The video inputs are

75 Ώ BNC connectors. Plug one end into the video source (DVD, Camera, etc.)

and plug the other end into the desired BNC input on the recorder.

Connecting to a Network

Use the RJ45 jack on the rear of the recorder when connecting to a network.

Connecting Audio

To record audio on the recorder connect the audio source to the connections on the audio ports on the
I/O connector.

To listen to live or recorded audio connect the Audio Out Port to an amplified speaker system.

Connecting an Alarm/Sensor Input

Connect alarm/sensor inputs to the Alarm In ports on the I/O connector.

Connecting a Relay Output

Connect relay output to the Alarm Out port on the I/O connector.

Connecting a PTZ Camera

The RS485 connector on the I/O connector can be used to control Pan / Tilt / Zoom (PTZ) cameras.
See the PTZ camera manufacturer’s manual for configuring the RS485 connection.

Connect D+ and D- from the I/O connector on the recorder to the R+ and R- of the camera.
