5.4. Test Task
– PoE
PoE refers to Power over Ethernet. APMPT-4 allows you to perform PoE tests such as:
Types of PoE
’s Task
PoE-Connect
Perform connect test on DUT (i.e. PSE) based on different configurations.
PoE-Disconnect
Perform disconnect test on DUT (i.e. PSE) based on different configurations.
PoE-Overload
Perform overload test on DUT (i.e. PSE) based on different configurations.
PoE-ShortCircuit
Perform short circuit test on DUT (i.e. PSE) based on different configurations.
PoE-Loading
Perform loading and transmitting packets test on DUT (i.e. PSE) based on different
configurations.
PoE-Loading-Groups
Perform loading and transmitting packets test on DUT (i.e. PSE) based on different
configurations and criteria for two groups with different media types such as
100Mbps and 1Gbps
POE-Dynamic
Loading
Perform POE Dynamic loading test to DUT (i.e. PSE Ethernet switch) based on
real data transmission by different configurations and warning criteria.
You can use NuPOE-32EL to perform APMPT-
4‟s PoE test, as well. However, before using NuPOE-32EL
and APMPT-4 for PoE tests, you have to install the PD simulation modules in your NuPOE-32EL chassis.
Xtramus Technologies provides two kinds of PD simulation modules to the customers, namely XM-2LE2A
and XM-2LE2T series modules, supporting a maximum power consumption of 45W. Where, XM-2LE2A
only supports 802.3af and XM-2LE2T supports 802.3af and 802.3at.
