Changing the Default Format
Two views of the mode output of the mode simulator value are shown under
LonPoint Index Type in the main window of the example (see step 5 under
InTouch Animation and I/O Tags). The first form of the value uses the default
format where the mode is reported as a string spelling out the enumerated value.
The InTouch tag is declared as an I/O Message type, and the item description of
the I/O tag is declared as follows:
DI-1.Mode
Simulator.Mode_Out
The second form of the value uses an integer format where the mode is reported
as an integer. The InTouch tag is declared as an I/O Integer, and the item
description of the tag includes an additional flag to modify the format used to
present the data as follows:
DI-1.Mode Simulator.Mode_Out -tInteger
The integer value representation is more appropriate if the HMI application
needs to use the mode value to control the execution of a script.
Display Unit Conversion
The fields under LonPoint Analog Data in the Monitoring NVs window
display points associated with the example control loop. These are temperature
values that may be displayed as Celsius or Fahrenheit values. The default format
is selected based on your Windows locale settings. To force the US or SI format to
be used when the other format is the default, follow these steps:
1. From WindowMaker, double-click the ‘#.00’ string to the right of the OA
Temperature label.
2. Click on he Analog, Value Display animation link to determine the tag
used for the animation link.
3. Double-click the tag name in the Expression field to open the tag edit
dialog.
