12. Layout
This section describes the board outline including major component placement and PCB layers.
12.1. Mechanical Drawing and Placement
The blade is complaint to PICMG 3.0 outline specifications. Shown in Figure 12-1 is the outline
(preliminary) of the blade with its faceplate and a preliminary try for the placement. The final version of the
layout may differ. Note that the air flow comes from the bottom left to the top right. The major devices and
their heat sinks are aligned to maximize the benefit of such air flow direction.
