6.7. UART Interface
The NPU provides UART interface from the device directly, which is modeled after the
industry standard 16550. Each UART interface from UART0 is routed to the faceplate of the
board with an RJ-45 form factor outlet. Users can attach two independent console ports to
simultaneously monitor both NPUs. The console pin maps and default setting can be found in
3.1.1.

6.8. TWSI (I2C) Interface
The NPU provides 2x TWSI interfaces, namely, TWSI0 and TWSI1. Of the two interfaces
only TWSI1 is used and connected as in Figure 6-11. It configures four DIMMs, where each
hard-wired address is configured on the board as 0x50, 0x52, 0x54, and 0x56 respectively.

The TWSI interface supports:
•
Standard mode (100Kbps) and fast mode (400Kbps)
•
7bit and 10bit addressing. (7b is used on the board)
•
Master and slave support
• Multi
master
support
6.9. Other Interfaces
The USB interfaces from the NPU are not used and are left unconnected.
The MDC/MDIO for external PHY control are not used and are left unconnected.
