9.3. Ethernet Transceiver BCM5221

The BCM5221 is a 10/100 BASE-T Ethernet transceiver that supports MII to MDI
interface conversion. The RMII side is connected to the IPMC and the MDI side is
connected to the base switch. This port is used for Serial-over-LAN (SOL). The IPMC
configures the device through the MDIO interface.

9.4. CPLD

The CPLD LCMXO640C-3FTN256C from Lattices plays important roles in collecting

and distributing many hardware signals among the IPMC, the CPU P2041 and many
other devices. The LMP configures the CPLD registers for the management. Refer to
the CPLD datasheet for details.
