DSMC BRAIN
The RED Digital Still and Motion Camera (DSMC) system is a model for image innovation, ushering digital
cinema and photography technology into the next generation. At the center of RED modular system is the
DSMC BRAIN
®
, housing the critical image capture electronics and digital image sensor.
The expansive RED arsenal of DSMC modules, monitors, lens mounts, controllers, power, media, and other
accessories supports both the EPIC and SCARLET BRAINs. Modular DSMC lens mounts enable you to use your
existing Canon
®
, Nikon
®
, Leica-M
®
, and PL lenses to capture the perfect shot.
EPIC-M AND EPIC-X
EPIC-M and EPIC-X BRAINs are the pinnacle of professional cinema-grade cameras, capable of capturing video
and stills at up to 6K resolution at 100 frames per second (FPS). Designed with an entirely modular architecture,
advanced image processing capabilities, and integrated audio system, the EPIC delivers a remarkable amount
of technology—packed into a five (5) lb body.
EPIC-M RED DRAGON (CARBON FIBER)
The EPIC-M RED DRAGON (CARBON FIBER) is engineered with carbon fiber and magnesium parts to significantly
reduce weight. Due to the material characteristics of carbon fiber and magnesium, hardware and mounting
points differ from the standard aluminum BRAIN and weight restrictions may apply. Some DSMC components
are not compatible with the EPIC-M RED DRAGON (CARBON FIBER).
NOTE: Use ONLY designated side SSD modules, magnesium lens mounts, and hardware with the EPIC-M RED
DRAGON (CARBON FIBER).
SCARLET-X
The SCARLET-X BRAIN leaves one-dimensional DSLRs in its wake, letting you capture up to 6K video and stills
with the RED DRAGON sensor, or 5K video and stills with the MYSTERIUM-X sensor. The SCARLET-X offers the
same raw potential as the EPIC with the .R3D
®
file format that offers unmatched dynamic range, image latitude,
and evolving color science.
