Lynx Windows File Management Utility
Lynx is a Windows fi le management utility that runs on a desktop
PC, allowing you to easily transfer fi les between your desktop
PC and the Allegro Field Computer. Additional fi le management
functions that can be performed remotely on the Allegro from your
PC include:
Creating and deleting fi les or folders
Moving or copying fi les within the remote or local computer
Viewing the contents of folders, the C: drive, or PC cards
Lynx Screens
When you start Lynx from your Windows Start Menu or desktop
icon, two Windows Explorer
™
-type screens are displayed. The top
screen (Local) displays the contents of your PC. The bottom screen
(Remote) displays the contents of the Allegro after a connection is
established. A sample screen is shown below:
The Lynx display has the following features:
File, Edit, Transfer, and Help functions.
A tool bar with shortcut buttons is located between the local and
remote screens.
Beneath the remote screen are four boxes that provide you with
the following information: status, active communication port,
bytes free on the Allegro, and fi le transfer progress.
