The LC101 Module is designed to control and acquire data from an inter
nal Welch Allyn OEM
Technologies CO
2
bench.
Utilizing a pump to aspirate the patient sample to the CO
2
bench, the
CO
2
concentr
ation in the patient’s expired respiratory gas can be obtained. The sidestream
system includes an internal sidestream CO
2
bench, electronics and pneumatic components
.
The LC101 Module calculates CO
2
measurements and respir
atory rate and outputs this data with
CO
2
w
aveform to the host system via a serial communications interface.
Intended Use
The LC101 Module is intended f
or use as a subsystem within a medical instrument or device.
The Module measures levels of CO
2
contin
uously or intermittently in the sidestream mode. The
Module has been designed to be used on both intubated and non-intubated patients. The Module
and its accessories should always be used as described in the host system’s operator’s manual
and only for the purpose(s) intended. Areas of intended use include:

Hospital Emergency Department/EMS (ED/EMS)
•
Surgical Operating Rooms (Anesthesia)
•
Hospital Post Anesthesia Care Units (PACU)

Home Care / Traditional Health Care
The most common user will be a nurse or skilled healthcare professional (such as an EMT,
paramedic, respiratory therapist, clinical engineer, etc.).
