Troubleshooting

Make sure that the room is well ventilated. CO

2

readings may be elevated in a closed

room.

Confirm that the calibration gas is of known concentration. If the CO

2

readings are

consistently elevated or depressed, the calibration gas may be suspect. Try another
gas source.

Make sure that the CO

2

module was properly set up and operating for the required

minimum period before testing.

Check for air leaks in the pneumatic tubing and connections. Repair or replace as
needed.

Confirm that the sample gas flow rate is greater than the CO

2

module’s pump flow

rate.

Confirm that silicon tubing is not used in the procedure (silicon absorbs CO

2

which

affects the gas concentration stability and accuracy of the procedure).
