Reaction vessel is closed by a septum; this septum allows the injection of solvent and
other substances with an injection needle during work. Septum itself is made of
silicone, the inside featuring PTFE foil to ease cleaning.
2.1.5 Tube fitting, head and base
Slip tube fitting over PTFE tube. Slip tapered end of clamping ring over tube (refer to
picture), clamp ring needs to be flush with tube end. Screw fitting with tube and clamp
ring into threaded hole and pull tight by hand.
Pull tight carefully until reaching proper vacuum seal: do not squeeze
tube.
