There are ghost images or black dots on the screen.

When the computer is left on for many hours, temporary
defects may appear on the screen. Put the computer to sleep.
The longer the computer was left on, the longer it will take for
the images to fade, but they will eventually disappear.

The pointer moves too fast/too slowly.

You need to adjust the pointer’s tracking speed. Open the
Mouse control panel and choose a more comfortable setting.

The pointer won’t move at all.

A software problem may have caused the computer to
“freeze.” Restart the computer by pressing the Command (x),
Control, and Power On keys simultaneously. You will lose any
work you have not saved.

A window has disappeared.

Another open window on the desktop may have covered the
one you’re looking for. Move, resize, close, or hide windows
you aren’t using until you see the one you want.

Windows belonging to open but inactive programs may be
hidden. Choose Show All from the Application menu to show
hidden windows.

An icon is blinking in the menu bar.

One of your programs needs attention. For example, you may
have set the Alarm Clock to go off at a particular time, or
PrintMonitor may be alerting you to a printing problem. Make
the program active and take the necessary action.
