Downloading AT-S65 Management
Software Updates
This chapter describes how to download AT-S65 software updates and
contains the following sections:
ˆ “Using Xmodem to Update the AT-S65 Management Software” on
page 93
ˆ “Using TFTP to Update the AT-S65 Management Software” on
page 96
Note
For instructions on obtaining the latest software updates, refer to
“Management Software Updates” on page 11.
Note the following before you begin either procedure:
ˆ You can download a new AT-S65 image file onto the chassis from
either a local or Telnet management session.
ˆ You can use Xmodem or TFTP to download the image file from a local
management session.
ˆ You must use TFTP to download the image file from a Telnet
management session.
ˆ To use TFTP, there must be a node on your network that contains the
TFTP server software, and the new AT-S65 image file must be stored
on that node.
ˆ If you are using TFTP, you should start the TFTP server before you
begin the download procedure.
ˆ Installing a new AT-S65 software image onto the chassis does not
change the current configuration, for example its IP address, subnet
mask, and name (if already assigned).
Note
The chassis stops forwarding Ethernet traffic after it has downloaded
the image file and begun to initialize the software. Some network
traffic may be lost.
The following procedures assume that you have already obtained the new
software from Allied Telesyn and stored it on the management station from
