Obtaining information about external LUs
The LDEV Information window displays information about external disk arrays and external LUs mapped as
internal XP LDEVs. To display this window, select the external LU group number in the device list, click the
LU you want to display in the device list, right-click, select LDEV Information.

The LDEV Information window displays the following:
• Vendor
The external disk array vendor
• Product
The external disk array product name
• Serial
The external disk array serial number
• Group
External LU group and reference number
• Characteristic
The external LU identification number
• Device
Device name of external LU
• Capacity
The capacity of the external LU. When an open system emulation type is set for the mapped external
LU, capacity is displayed in 512-byte blocks. When a mainframe system emulation type is set, capacity
is displayed in cylinders.
• LDEV List
The status of external LUs mapped as internal XP LDEVs, including the following:
• CU:LDEV: The internal CU:LDEV number to which the external LU is mapped
• Path: Number of set paths
• Emulation Type: The emulation type of the external LU (which was set when it was mapped)
• Capacity: The capacity of the external LU
• Status: Status of external LU. Possible values: Normal, Unknown, Blockade, Warning, and Format.
Warning indicates that some alternate paths are blocked. Format indicates the external LU is
currently being formatted.
