Alternate Path List
Status of alternate paths. The Alternate Path list consists of two tables. The Configured Paths table
displays previously defined paths. The Available Paths table displays available paths. The Alternate
Path list displays the following information:
• Port: The local disk array port number
• WWN: Identification number of the external disk array port.
• LUN: The external LU number.
• Priority: Priority of paths connecting to external LU. A 1 indicates the path with the highest priority.
• Status: Status of path to external LU. For information on reacting to status displayed, see
Troubleshooting External Storage XP
” on page 74. Possible values:
• Normal: Path status is normal
• Unknown: Path status is unknown.
• Blockade: I/O traffic is blocked.
• External device setting changed: Something about the external disk array has changed. For
example, a path definition was deleted or the external disk array was replaced.
• LDEV size reduced: The volume capacity of the external disk array has changed (volume
capacity was reduced)
• Not ready: The external disk array replied NOTREADY.
• Illegal request: The external disk array replied ILLEGALREQUEST
• Command aborted: External disk array replied ABORTEDCOMMAND
• Busy: The external disk array status is BUSY
• LDEV reserved: The external disk array status is Reserve
• Response error: The status of the external disk array is blocked because of an abnormal reply
(Response)
• Initiator port: The port attribute of the external disk array changed to initiator
• RCU target port: The port attribute of the external disk array changed to RCU target
• Unknown port: The port attribute of external disk array is unknown
• Cannot detect port: The path was removed or the external disk array port cannot be found
• Internal error: A program error occurred, or there is a logical contradiction
• Timeout: Processing was retried because of an abnormal reply, but a timeout has occurred
• Checking: External Storage XP is checking defined configuration information of paths
• Disconnect: The connection to the external disk array or LU was stopped using the Disconnect
Subsystem or Disconnect Volume command
• Unavailable: The external disk array replied Unavailable. The external disk array requests to
change the connected port. After the status becomes Unavailable, the primary path changes to
the alternate path that is in the Standby status. When the primary path changes, the status of the
path becomes Normal.
