INTRODUCTION
Speedman Pump Controller
The Speedman pump control system is a fully integrated pump controller for one or two pumps to maintain a constant
pressure.
The Speedman system requires connection to power via a circuit breaker capable of handling the total pump load, wiring
of pump motors, and attachment of a pressure tube to the discharge manifold for the system to be ready to run.
(PLEASE NOTE: if purchased as part of a Davey pump set, the wiring and the discharge pressure tube will be already connected.)
The Speedman controller starts and stops pumps according to information collected from a pressure transducer and
compares this to a reference set point entered in the Speedman menu setting. The controller maintains the system
pressure at the set point by varying the speed of the VSD pump and switching other pumps ON and OFF. When the
system detects NO FLOW it will shut down until the pressure drops below a restart point.
The Speedman logic reduces running costs by ensuring pumps runs as efficiently as possible and are shut down when
not required.
Options can be requested to meet any application, including specific site requirements such as remote communication,
environmental considerations and fault monitoring and reporting. The Speedman offers full telemetry outputs for simple
integration into central control applications.
The Speedman has easily accessible menus that allows anyone to make adjustments to any pump application thus
saving on potentially costly service calls when setting changes are required. The Speedman Pump Control system is a
member of the Davey Pump Control range that has a range of options to suit specific applications and user requirements.
Options can be discussed your agent or Davey dealer prior to ordering to ensure your site application needs are fully met
prior to commissioning.

WARNING: Do not use hydrocarbon based or hydrocarbon
propelled sprays around the electrical components of the
pump or controller.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE petroleum based fluids or
solvents (e.g. oils, kerosene, turpentine, thinners, etc) on
the plastic or seal components.
Care should also be taken when servicing or disassembling
pump to avoid possible injury from hot pressurised water.
Unplug pump, relieve pressure by opening a tap on the
discharge side of the pump and allow any hot water in the
pump to cool before attempting to dismantle.
WARNING: When servicing or attending the pump or
controller, always ensure power is switched off and lead
unplugged. Electrical connections should be serviced only
by qualified persons.
WARNING: Always disconnect the pump and controller
from the electrical supply before maintenance or repairs.
WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions and comply
with all applicable codes may cause serious bodily injury
and/or property damage.
WARNING : The pump and associated pipework operate
under pressure. Under no circumstances should the
pump or associated pipework be disassembled unless the
internal pressure of the unit has been relieved. Failure to
observe this warning will expose persons to the possibility
of personal injury and may also result in damage to the
pump, pipework or other property.
NOTE: Prior to installation remove the red transport plugs
& associated seals from the suction and/or discharge ports
of the pump.
In accordance with AS 3350.2.41 we are obliged to inform
you that this pump is not to be used by children or infirm
persons and must not be used as a toy by children.
