Bridge Mode
In Bridge mode, all ports are assigned to one
digital-sharing group. When the MCMP or TDM circuit
card is configured as a digital bridge, the control DSU
can support dedicated multipoint dial backup, expanded
digital-sharing, or multipoint LADS operation.
When the digital bridge is set for automatic backup,
partial or full backup occurs as needed. In
, a DDS multipoint network is operating with
three central-site DBMs dedicated to the control DSU
and connected to the CBrdg.
If a failure occurs on the DDS line, each of the
affected DSUs switches data through the digital bridge to
the dedicated DBM. If automatic restoral is enabled, the
active DBMs switch back to the DSUs automatically
when the DDS network is restored.
