TDM Setup Configuration Options

MUX Funct: TDM

MUX Functions. Mode of operation for the TDM circuit card.

TDM – TDM mode for point-to-point multiplexing, tributary multipoint DSD, or digital-sharing configuration.

CBrdg – Bridge mode for a central-site bridge configuration (

Table 4-3

). An installed DBM must be disabled.

EBrdg – Bridge mode for an extended bridge configuration (

Table 4-3

). An installed DBM must be disabled.

None Basic mode configuration; disables the MUX circuit card. None of the following configuration options appear.

Sharing Device A. Enable this configuration option to create one of two digital-sharing groups. This configuration option
may be used with LPDA-2 enabled. The following rules apply:

All ports in a group must have the same port speed.

All ports must be adjacent.

A digital-sharing group can have from 2 to 6 ports with a total of 2 ports when a 2-port TDM/Flex is installed.

Enab Enables digital-sharing.

Disab Disables digital-sharing.

Lowest Port Number. Allows selection of the lowest port number to be included in the digital-sharing group. This
configuration option appears if Sharing Device A is enabled and does not appear when a 2-port TDM/Flex is installed.

NOTE: Enabling Sharing Device A and accepting the defaults for configuration options Lowest Port Number and

Number of Ports in Group places Ports 1 and 2 in the digital-sharing group.

1 to 5 Select the lowest port number.

Number of Ports in Group. Select total number of ports to be included in the digital-sharing group. This configuration
option appears if Sharing Device A is enabled and does not appear when a 2-port TDM/Flex is installed.

NOTE: Individual ports in a digital-sharing group can be configured for streaming terminal. If streaming terminal

detection is enabled on a port and RTS for that port is ON longer than the value selected, the port’s leads are
clamped until RTS is turned Off. (See

RTS Cntrl

in Table 4-4.)

2 to 6 Selects the number of ports.
