Port 1 Speed. Primary DSU port speed in kbps on Port 1. This configuration option is available when MUX Funct =
MCMP.
Choose a port speed for Port 1, then press Next to bring up the speed selection menu for Port 2. Continue selecting port
speeds for each enabled port until you enter a port speed for all ports. The default for Ports 2 through 6 is Disab. Ports 3
through 6 do not appear when a 2-port TDM/Flex is installed.
NOTE: For all ports, the DSU verifies that the sum of the individual port speeds does not exceed 48 kbps. The data
rate, set via the DSU’s Rate(Kbps) configuration option, must be set to 56 kbps. Port speeds in DSD and FEP
port-sharing groups are counted once per group when calculating used bandwidth.
48 to 1.2 kbps – Sets the port speed.
Disab – Sets port speed to 0 (zero) bps.

Channel Assignment to Port 1. At the control site, any of the channels (A through H) can be assigned to any of the six
ports (e.g., channel F
→
Port 1), but you cannot assign a channel to more than one port. For FEP port sharing, the same
channel is assigned to both ports in the group. At one or more tributary sites with Port Control set to Host, a channel can
be assigned to as many ports as wanted to establish the virtual multiport circuit for that channel. This configuration
option is available when MUX Funct = MCMP. Ports 3 through 6 do not appear when a 2-port MCMP/Flex is installed.
Choose a channel assignment for Port 1, then press Next to bring up the channel selection menu for Port 2. Continue
selecting channel assignments until channels have been assigned to all ports. The default for Ports 2 through 6 is None.
A to H – Assigns one channel to one port.
None – Assigns no channel to Port 1.
