Port 1 Speed. Primary DSU port speed on Port 1. Must be set to the same value in the remote DSU.
Choose a port speed for Port 1, then press Next to bring up the speed selection menu for Port 2. Continue selecting port
speeds for each port until you enter a port speed for all ports. The default for Ports 2 through 6 is Disab. Ports 3 through
6 do not appear when a 2-port TDM/Flex is installed.
NOTE: Both ports in an FEP port-sharing group must be configured to operate at the same port speed when using the
18.8, 9.2, and 4.4 kbps. For all ports, the DSU verifies that the sum of the individual port speeds does not
exceed the data rate set in the DSU’s Rate(Kbps) configuration option. If the sum of the port speeds equals the
aggregate data rate, an underspeed port selection is required. Port speeds in DSD and FEP port-sharing
groups are only counted once per group when calculating used bandwidth.
When the Async
→
Sync configuration option is enabled, the following port speeds will not appear:
32, 24.0, 18.8, 18.0, 9.2, 8.4, 4.4, 4.0, and 2.0 kbps.
64 to 1.2 kbps – Sets the port speed.
Disab – Sets port speed to 0 (zero) bps.

Underspeed Port. Selects which port is run underspeed to allow for in-band framing, if used. One port must run
underspeed if the sum of the port speeds equals the aggregate data rate [Rate(Kbps)]. A port used for asynchronous
operation may not be set for underspeed. Ports 3 through 6 do not appear when a 2-port TDM/Flex is installed.
NOTE: Underspeed cannot be used with 18.8, 9.2, or 4.4 kbps port speeds. The DSU verifies that an underspeed port
is selected if the sum of the port speeds equals the primary data rate.
Disab – No port runs underspeed during primary operation.
Prt1 to Prt6 – Selected port runs underspeed during primary operation.
* Only appears when MUX Funct is set to TDM. Refer to DSU Port Speed Configuration Options for MCMP
(
Table 4-6
) if MUX Funct is set to MCMP.
