Supplementary services

The supplementary services described in this section only work if they are supported by your ISDN service
provider and if they are enabled on your ISDN line. Contact your ISDN service provider for more information
on the calling features that are available in your area and the provisioning of your ISDN connection.

If you attempt to use a calling feature that is not available to you, you will hear four beeps (called the service
failure tone) through your telephone handset.

• Call Forwarding

• Call Waiting

• VoiceMail

• Caller ID

• Three-way Conference Calling

• Call Transfer

Note

If you did not use EZ-ISDN or IOC to order your line, verify that the DIVA LAN ISDN Modem's default

settings are compatible with those of your ISDN provider before using this feature. See “Feature Key values”
on page 99 f
or more information.

Note

To use Calling Features, your ISDN line must support the following: Additional Call Offering (ACO)

and Flexible Calling (FC). If you ordered your ISDN line using the proper EZ-ISDN code, you should have
access to these features.

Note

Calling Features are accessed via codes (for example, *72). The codes you use will differ depending on

your ISDN Service Provider. Contact your ISDN Service Provider for more information.

To enable supplementary services

1.

On the Manual Configuration menu, click ISDN and phone ports. The DIVA LAN ISDN Modem displays
the ISDN phone line parameters page.

2.

In the Define settings for box, choose the phone port you want to enable calling features for. DIVA LAN
ISDN Modem displays the following page:

3.

Enable distinctive ring, Enable call waiting, or Enable voice mail as required.

4.

Click Save.

5.

Click Reset.

Call Forwarding

Call Forwarding automatically transfers incoming calls to wherever you are so you never miss a customer call
even when you’re away from your home office. Call Forwarding is accessed by dialing a simple code (e.g.,
72#). Not all ISDN Service Providers use the same dial codes. Ask your ISDN Service
Provider for the codes you should use.

Note

Some ISDN Service Providers use *70 to activate Call Forwarding. If you press *70, but call forwarding

does not get activated, try using **70. Contact your ISDN Service Provider if problems persist.
